Liver Transplantation
Liver transplantation or hepatic transplantation is the replacement of a diseased liver with the healthy liver from another person (allograft). Liver transplantation is a treatment option for end-stage liver disease and acute liver failure, although availability of donor organs is a major limitation.
We are providing all investigation to evaluate the cause of Liver and we treat the patient medically or surgically according to the cause (reason). Symptoms a liver transplant is considered when the liver no longer functions adequately.
Why ?
Liver failure can happen suddenly (acute liver failure) as a result of viral hepatitis, drug-induced injury or infection. Liver failure can also be the end result of a long-term problem.
The Procedure of ?
The surgeons carefully isolated the patient's diseased liver from his body, bypassing or clamping off veins, arteries, and bile ducts. Throughout the liver transplant procedure, they exposed blood vessels slowly to ensure minimum blood loss. Meanwhile, the donor liver already waited on a back table in the same operating room, preserved in sterile, iced cold storage solution.
The benefits of living liver donation are two-fold. One is that the operation can be done electively, when the recipient is in optimal condition, which enhances the probability of success following transplantation.
